January Around The Web

Hello 2022! My new year started with a quick family road trip to Decatur, Illinois. After that the rest of the month was filled with Holiday Mart 2022 planning meetings, a weekend trip to Denver to visit Laura & Ashton, and the month ended hosting Megan’s baby shower and celebrating my grandpa’s birthday. I also started a rotation at work in Hallmark’s Trends Studio this month! I’m not super into horoscopes but I did enjoy this one for the year ahead from Wit & Delight:

Hello, 2022!

December Around The Web

We kicked off December celebrating my mom’s birthday at the Overland Park Arboretum Luminary Walk! The week after I hosted my annual Chi O ornament exchange at my house and then attended a Junior League holiday party. I was extremely grateful to end the month spending Christmas with my family after testing positive for Covid in the middle of the month. Around the web I was super inspired by the home of designer Martin Brudnizki featured in Architectural Digest:

November Around The Web

November is all about family and the kickoff to the holiday season and this year was no exception! We started the month celebrating our friends Sydney and Salvador’s marriage, followed the next weekend with a quick trip to Houston to celebrate Rajab and Shaza, I saw Grace preform in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Holiday Mart transition meetings took place, I got my Covid-19 booster and we celebrated Thanksgiving with both our families!

Grateful for you!

October Around The Web

October is coming to a close — we started the month at another wedding celebrating our friends Jon and Emily, our dining room table finally arrived after being restored, I had a few fun happy hours with work friends (Cafe Trio in KC always decorates for Halloween!), we celebrated my sister Sophie’s birthday with Indian food, we attended a baby shower for Dale’s co-workers, went to a Louisburg football game with Laura & Ashton, spent a weekend at Turkey Hill for Oktoberfest, wrapped up Holiday Mart 2021 with a happy hour, had dinner with Brandon &Sonya and Megan & Matt/Mary & Kam around Dale’s birthday, and then headed to Nashville for Dale’s 30th! Looking back we were able to see so many friends and family which made the month fly by!

September Around The Web

September was all about weddings! Before all the festivities began we started the month with a Labor Day weekend boating at Turkey Hill and had dinner to celebrate Barbara’s birthday at Lake Winnebago. The next week Grace and I got our nails done before Laura and Ashton’s wedding weekend, Holiday Mart held our Pre-Con meeting, and then Dale and I packed and headed to LA to celebrate Matt and Caitlin. As soon as we were home Holiday Mart move-in and show week began! This month was a whirlwind and had some definite lows as well. Fall has arrived and I’m having a hard time wrapping my brain around the fact that there are just a few months left in 2021. Never have I had to try harder to embrace the season we are in!

  • Kate’s kitchen stopped me in my tracks. It’s so unique and refreshing and has me wanting to include a lot more color and quirk in my home.

  • Julia’s fall table also caught my eye! I love the beautiful florals and how the dishes stick within the same pink palette.

  • Krystal’s styling and photography are always so inspiring. These photos truly feel like Fall.

  • I’m not a huge baker, or chef for that matter, but I would love to try these pumpkin snickerdoodle cookies!

  • Living in a smaller home, I always enjoy others’ tips and tricks for how they best utilize their space, especially in the kitchen.

  • And on the opposite end of the spectrum, penthouse inspiration.

  • It’s soup season!

  • This burgundy color is going to be popular this year I think!

Let’s embrace The Season

August Around The Web

August was a bit more relaxed as Summer starts to wind down. At the beginning of the month I settled back into my work from home routine after coming home from Utah, we spent time with our nephews and celebrated Mike’s birthday, Dale and I worked on planning our Europe trip with Sophie and Alex, we spent as much time as possible at the pool, I went to an outdoor Fusion pop-up class, the Smith family visited the Auschwitz exhibit at Union Station, Holiday Mart planning got busier as the show approached, Dale and I attended a couple’s shower for Laura and Ashton, and we spent a weekend hanging out with our high school friends Syd and Sal!

  • Around the web this month this propagation wall tutorial caught my eye because our fiddle is nearing the ceiling! Not sure if I will be brave enough to propagate, but saving just in case!

  • Another fun DIY I discovered was this checkered bowl!

  • Always on the lookout for pasta recipes!

  • I keep coming back to this belt bag…

  • Someday I would love to stay at the Ludlow in NYC!

  • Matte balloons seem to be trending at the moment.

  • The most exciting news of the month is that I signed up for Nuuly! I can’t wait for my first box to arrive in early September!

Soak up the end of summer!
