It is always fun to create lettering for personal projects, and I loved creating a new logo for this website. I decided to stick with a similar style to my original branding I created. Next on the agenda, new business cards! I will be ordering from Moo, the quality of their luxe business cards is wonderful.
26 Letters 26,000 Miles
You are most likely familiar with Lauren Hom's work, her lettering seems to be everywhere! She recently announced she will be spending a year traveling the world, and she has created a series of travel posters to help fund her expenses. Head on over to the 26 Letters 26,000 Miles website to learn more, but I will be purchasing this one. With my love of letters and traveling, what better endeavor to support!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
This Valentine's Day I was lucky enough to be a part of a video series shared over on Think.Make.Share's Instagram. Take a look at my video below, and be sure to take a look at all the video's on Instagram using the hashtag #hallmarkletterslove. I hope you all have a wonderful day spent with those you love!
Sign Painters The Movie
This past Friday I joined several of my co-workers and went to AIGA KC's screening of Sign Painters: The Movie. I truly recommend this film to anyone who has an interest in hand-lettering, or documentaries in general. It was fascinating to not only watch the sign painters in the film execute their craft, but also to hear their commentary on this traditional skill. Take a look at the trailer for the movie posted below:
Jessica Hische Forever Stamp
I love this interview with Jessica Hische about the lettering she created for the USPS. Perhaps this will be the stamp I use when sending out our wedding invitations... take a look!
Save The Date
I am finally just about to send out Dale and I's Save the Date! We have decided to email these out so that I can make our actual invitations especially special. I love that I was able to combine my lettering with one of our engagement photos (taken by Rusty Wright of Waldron Photograph Co.) The wedding to-do list seems to get longer every day, especially with all of the little details, but I am excited to continue sharing bits and pieces as June 6th approaches!
