December Around The Web

December has come to a close, and I’m having a hard time processing that we are leaving 2023, the year Grant was born! All month was filled with first Christmas activities: we went to our church’s Kristkindl Markt, had brunch with friends in town, took Grant to see Santa, survived a family stomach bug, attended Dale’s work holiday parties, I had my holiday dinner club favorite things exchange, our family visited Enchant KC, we got to meet baby Daphne, celebrated Dianne’s birthday, visited Union Station and Crown Center, and had a magical Christmas Eve/Christmas Day/26th visit to Lawrence! The last few days of the month were spent enjoying Smith family time and heading back to Enchant for New Year’s Eve! Around the web, I was especially inspired by these beautiful ornaments by Mille Amber. Hopefully next year I won’t miss the chance to purchase one! Take a look at her work here.

  • I also hope that I get a chance to try making these beautiful dinner rolls next Christmas!

  • London has the most beautiful holiday decorations! I hope to visit in person someday.

  • A bit of Christmas lettering inspiration

  • A new to me letterpress studio, the deep emboss is just so stunning.

  • Would you try this DIY? I would love to try a larger scale version in the doorway between my living room and dining room

  • After having a chance to try royal icing cookies this year, I could not stop watching these videos!

  • One of my favorite memories this December was making salt dough ornaments. This was the recipe I used, and despite Grant not loving the handprint ideas we had some super cute Santas to share with his teachers and family!

  • Saving this for inspiration in the new year, I would love to embroider on a sweater for Grant

  • I don’t have plans for a sparkly NYE outfit this year, but Grace always has the best roundups

Merry Christmas, friends!

June Around The Web

June kicked off with Dale and I celebrating our 8 year wedding anniversary! My parents offered to babysit so that we could head to The Campground for drinks followed by a delicious dinner at Novel. That Sunday Grant was baptized and we had a great lunch after to celebrate! The rest of the month included more celebrations for our friend’s daughter Ruthie, Alex turned 30, we spent time with the Chicago Smiths, and saw Grace preform at her aerial show and at The Folly! Grace also turned 19 on the 26th and we had cupcakes at our house the night before her Folly performance. Grant is now three months old (how does time go so fast!) and has grown so much! He’s officially in mostly 3-6 month clothes and is giggling and smiling which is the BEST.

  • I was blown away by how beautiful Mackenzie’s instant hedges turned out! I’ve always admired her beautiful back yard but the hedges really brought it to a whole new level!

  • Like the rest of the internet, I am excited for the Barbie movie

  • An interesting history of the tote, we sure use Grant’s a lot!

  • I’m taking lots of early morning walks with my little guy and need a new hat

  • Bittersweet news from one of my favorite sites, Wit & Delight

  • Adding the ingredients for this recipe to our grocery list

  • Obsessed with this mirror (and little bathroom in general)

  • Bookmarking for future summer date nights

  • I love all blooms and these chairs are no exception. So beautiful!

  • The Magic Merlin is saving our sleep as Grant transitions out of his beloved Ollie!

happy summer!

March Around The Web

March is always an eventful month as we head into Spring! This March started with a work happy hour, Dale and I celebrated Laura and Kam’s 30th birthdays the same weekend as Alyson and Kale’s engagement party, my friend Sonya joined me in Mexico for Simi and Sandeep’s wedding and I also had a busy month at work and with Holiday Mart planning. I’m so grateful I got to spend time with so many friends this month and am looking forward to more travel in the next few months!

  • Around the web this month, I discovered Janet Hill Studio and am obsessed with this print!

  • It’s impossible to not be thinking of those suffering war and horrific violence in Ukraine. This was a beautiful roundup of art for Ukraine.

  • I always look forward to the St. Patrick’s Day card my Irish grandma mails me every year! I would love to make this wreath for next year’s festivities

  • Anticipating warmer weather, this badminton set would be the most fun replacement for our worn out set!

  • I finally had an occasion to use my “The Bigger Carry-On” suitcase this month! I love how it coordinates with my larger bag and is so easy to travel with.

  • Pre-ordering Jamie’s book now!

  • A super fun hair clip roundup

  • One of my favorite books I have read in awhile!

  • I also saw that this book from Hallmark featuring my lettering is now in stores!

May the road rise to meet you.

February Around The Web

February has come to a close and this month’s highlight was celebrating my 30th Birthday in Breckenridge, Colorado! This month we also went salsa dancing with our friends Sydney and Salvador, Dale and I celebrated Valentine’s Day with dinner at Novel, I went to my first concert since the pandemic began (Kacey Musgraves in Denver!) and preparations for Holiday Mart 2022 continued. Around the web, I am still obsessed with these doily honeycomb hearts from Lars, I would love to make some for next Valentine’s Day!

XOXO

January Around The Web

Hello 2022! My new year started with a quick family road trip to Decatur, Illinois. After that the rest of the month was filled with Holiday Mart 2022 planning meetings, a weekend trip to Denver to visit Laura & Ashton, and the month ended hosting Megan’s baby shower and celebrating my grandpa’s birthday. I also started a rotation at work in Hallmark’s Trends Studio this month! I’m not super into horoscopes but I did enjoy this one for the year ahead from Wit & Delight:

Hello, 2022!

August Around The Web

August was a bit more relaxed as Summer starts to wind down. At the beginning of the month I settled back into my work from home routine after coming home from Utah, we spent time with our nephews and celebrated Mike’s birthday, Dale and I worked on planning our Europe trip with Sophie and Alex, we spent as much time as possible at the pool, I went to an outdoor Fusion pop-up class, the Smith family visited the Auschwitz exhibit at Union Station, Holiday Mart planning got busier as the show approached, Dale and I attended a couple’s shower for Laura and Ashton, and we spent a weekend hanging out with our high school friends Syd and Sal!

  • Around the web this month this propagation wall tutorial caught my eye because our fiddle is nearing the ceiling! Not sure if I will be brave enough to propagate, but saving just in case!

  • Another fun DIY I discovered was this checkered bowl!

  • Always on the lookout for pasta recipes!

  • I keep coming back to this belt bag…

  • Someday I would love to stay at the Ludlow in NYC!

  • Matte balloons seem to be trending at the moment.

  • The most exciting news of the month is that I signed up for Nuuly! I can’t wait for my first box to arrive in early September!

Soak up the end of summer!
