I've never loved orange so this year I decided to round up some Halloween inspiration that was a bit darker than the traditional orange and black. I love the idea of hosting a Halloween dinner party complete with an elaborate table setting — hopefully this gets you excited for this spooky time of year!
Turkey Hill Blooms
I was lucky enough to spend this weekend at my family's lake house, Turkey Hill, with my parents, sisters and grandparents. We spent quite a bit of time surrounded by flowers, both real and handmade paper blooms. I absolutely loved learning to make paper flowers at a Think.Make.Share. workshop, and I had the best time teaching my mom, grandma and sisters how to make their own. Now we will be reminded of this weekend every time we visit Turkey Hill and see our bouquets!
I was also inspired by all the beautiful pressed flower pieces Hallmark shared just last week, and luckily there were still enough flowers left in the garden and wildflower field to make our own pieces. Hopefully you will find some inspiration from our flower-filled weekend!
Piñata Tips from Think.Make.Share.
Recently I participated in a piñata-making workshop at Hallmark for one of #My5Days! I choose to make a cactus piñata and you can head over to Think.Make.Share. for all the tips and tricks Em shared during the workshop. I may have underestimated the time commitment of creating my three-foot cactus, but I am obsessed with the end result! I hope you feel inspired to make a piñata of your own. Happy crafting!
DIY Crepe Paper Flowers for Think.Make.Share.
Today on Think.Make.Share. you can learn how to make these beautiful crepe paper flowers! This was one of my favorite workshops to participate in, I loved how each person's flowers turned out so unique using the same steps. I plan on displaying mine in a vase, but I have also seen some beautiful paper flower cake toppers. Now I just need an occasion to bake a cake! I hope you're inspired to get making.

February Around The Web
Hello, friends! February has just flown by. Between a busy season at work, Valentine's Day, my birthday, and time spent in Kansas City this month was full of time spent with family and friends. This month was also full of quite a lot of online inspiration. My absolute favorite was We Are Scout's interview with Liz Payne about her Liz Payne x Gorman collaboration. The patterns and details in her collection are stunning. Maybe they ship to the US?? Here are a few other links that caught my attention:
One of my favorite birthday gifts I received! Anthropologie always has the best frames.
Eager to test out this DIY Knot Pillow
I spent a day in Seville when I traveled to Spain in college, but Geneva's guide has it back on my travel wish list. (It is one of KC's sister cities!)
Although I rarely mention it here on the blog , I commute each week between St. Louis and Kansas City, and over the past few years have grown very accustomed to filling my drives with podcasts. Can't wait to test out some of these!
You can never have too many notebook DIYs
I will be participating in a paper flower workshop at work in a couple of weeks, and Rie Elise Larsen's work has me very inspired.
One of my college classmate's illustrated this beautiful print!
I am almost positive these are completely sold out, but I'm crossing my fingers they do a restock soon!
My lovely friend Lisa's baby nursery is on Think.Make.Share. this month!
