February Around The Web

Hello, friends! February has just flown by. Between a busy season at work, Valentine's Day, my birthday, and time spent in Kansas City this month was full of time spent with family and friends. This month was also full of quite a lot of online inspiration. My absolute favorite was We Are Scout's interview with Liz Payne about her Liz Payne x Gorman collaboration. The patterns and details in her collection are stunning. Maybe they ship to the US?? Here are a few other links that caught my attention:

• I spent a day in Seville when I traveled to Spain in college, but Geneva's guide has it back on my travel wish list. (It is one of KC's sister cities!)

• Although I rarely mention it here on the blog , I commute each week between St. Louis and Kansas City, and over the past few years have grown very accustomed to filling my drives with podcasts. Can't wait to test out some of these!

• I will be participating in a paper flower workshop at work in a couple of weeks, and Rie Elise Larsen's work has me very inspired.

Seville

Today we traveled to Seville! Our day began with a walking tour of Seville's Barrio Santa Cruz. Seville is known as one of the great cathedral and university cities in Europe, a center for bullfighting and flamenco, and also happens to be Kansas City's sister city! In fact, we even drove down Kansas City street. Of course I loved this. Our tour led us to Seville Cathedral, and I immediately recognized the bell tower, La Giralda,  as the model for one of the towers on the Plaza in KC. We were able to climb the tower and had a beautiful view of the entire city. The choir also gave an impromptu performance in from of the church. After breaking for lunch, we then headed to learn Flamenco from local dancers. This was quite an interesting experience, and after our hour lesson we were able to watch an actual performance which was full of passion. It was another wonderful day in Spain!
