August Around The Web
Happy Wednesday, friends! This August was pretty work-focused as my team had a big deadline for Mother's Day cards and Dale spent his month on a time-consuming rotation in his last year of medical school. We enjoyed a few lazy weekends at home in St. Louis, and I was lucky to have a visit from my mom last week. Dale and I also traveled to Ohio for our friends' wedding, which was the perfect way to end the month!
This month was full of inspiration around the web – my favorite discovery was the work of Tom Abbiss Smith. I have been really inspired by his abstract collages, and this is one of my favorites. I would love to order one of his prints! Here are a few of my other favorite finds:
- I tried and loved this pizza recipe from Love & Lemons this month!
- Tomorrow I am joining Marisol for her second block printing workshop at Hallmark. This recap post from her first workshop has me really excited.
- Some beautiful palaces in St. Petersburg
- I would love to try out these new A Color Story presets for Lightroom
- This sounds like the perfect dinner, and it would be even better with these grilled peaches for desert!
- Some BEAUTIFUL paper peonies from The House That Lars Built
- And some kitschy inspiration.
- When my mom was in town I got some great vintage pins, and this jean jacket is on the way so that they can have a proper home!
Enjoy the last few weeks of Summer!
April Around The Web
Happy Friday, friends. This month had lots of highlights including a weekend in KC with Dale's siblings, a weekend in Hermann in my college girlfriends, and a cake decorating workshop for one of #My5Days! (And I can't forget my first Easter at home in a few years, complete with the 30 and under egg hunt.) On the web, I loved seeing a few of the paper flowers I created make an appearance in Hallmark's Mother's Day Brunch inspiration for 100 Layer Cake-let! They shared so many lovely ideas for your celebration, take a look! Here are some of my other favorite finds this month:
This new-to-me recipe is amazing!
A great guide to a few popular calligraphy nibs from Laura Hooper Calligraphy
This post had me dreaming of another trip to Italy! Tuscany looks stunning.
Has anyone tried Pixel's glasses? Seriously considering trying out a pair.
I would love to get back into embroidery, what a great guide!
We have never tried meal-prepping before, but this article has me curious about giving it a try.
THIS WEDDING. I especially loved it since we were just in New Orleans, but I have to say this is one of the most spectacular weddings I have ever seen.
I used to love making soap for gifts, these gradient soap bars would be fun to try out!
Another day, another llama product on my wish list.
Some great tips for Instagram Stories.
This post had me dreaming of adding some more pink to my Spring wardrobe.
And last, but not least, I am already hooked on The Handmaid's Tale.
Enjoy the Spring blooms, friends!

January Around The Web
Happy Monday, friends! This month has been tough. After returning from Chile I spent several weeks dealing with health issues and a chaotic time of year at work — alongside the general chaotic nature of current political events. That said, I'm very grateful to be feeling much better now. This month has given me a renewed sense of energy to take care of myself. A January highlight has been seeing many of the Valentine's Day cards I created for Hallmark in stores. Work chaos sometimes leads to wonderful opportunities and I think that this is definitely one of those times. I'm really excited to see how the work I am creating now develops. It's always motivating to see cards come to life on shelf. Now for a few favorites around the web:
I found Wit & Delight's new studio space to be super inspiring. I'm very jealous of those in Minneapolis who will have the opportunity to use it!
This month I saw La La Land (I know, so did everyone), but I loved Jimmy Fallon's Golden Globes Opening Number based off the opening scene in the movie almost as much as the movie itself.
These photos stopped me in my tracks, I'm a big fan of Kaley From Kansas' photography, and her beautiful work this month for 100 Layer Cake.
Keeping this DIY in mind for if/when I have a home studio someday!
Loving Studio DIY's new balloon shop! I have my heart set on the Sparkle Emoji Ballons
New to me Ceramics inspiration
Some images from the Women's March
Creative globe painting ideas from Think.Make.Share.
I am constantly seeing Geronimo Balloons installations on Instagram and I enjoyed learning more about her in this interview.
This Queen of Jet Lags post has me adding Amsterdam to my travel wish list.
While I'm late to the party, this month I tried this Golden Milk recipe.
